Final Portrait

The story of the touching and offbeat friendship between American writer and art-lover James Lord and Alberto Giacometti, as seen through Lordâ€™s eyes and revealing unique insight into the beauty, frustration, profundity and sometimes the chaos of the artistic process. Set in 1964, while on a short trip to Paris, Lord is asked by his friend, Giacometti, to sit for a portrait. The process, promises Giacometti, will take only a few days and so Lord agrees, ultimately wondering â€œhow much longer can it go on like this?â€

When the priest at Pete\'s church informs Pete that all will be tested before they pass the Pearly Gates, he sets up a mini-decathlon and puts Danny in training as he attempts to reshape his spiritual thinking. Pete\'s parents aren\'t sure just what to make of Pete\'s new summer project, and as they become acquainted with Rabbi Jacobson, they share their perspectives on the unexpected trials of parenting.$
